Michael
Dunaway (a.k.a. "D"), Director
Michael Dunaway is
the vocal music director for grades 6-12 at the Marietta City
Schools. He has taught for nine years. Prior to moving to Marietta,
Mr. Dunaway taught vocal music to grades K-12 at Shenandoah
Elementary and High Schools for four years. Mr. Dunaway's Marietta
choirs include the above choirs, as well as Treble Chorus and
Bass Chorus. In addition, he is choir director for Norwood United
Methodist Church and gives private voice lessons.
Mr. Dunaway received
his Bachelor of Music Education from Otterbein College. He has
been mentioned in the Who's Who among America's Teachers four
times. He co-directed the musicals Bye-Bye Birdie, Guys and
Dolls, The Music Man, and Hello Dolly! for past Choir Boosters
musicals. Also, Mr. Dunaway has been chosen as an Outstanding
Educator by senior students for the past nine years.
In his spare time,
Mr. Dunaway likes to sleep.
Mr. Dunaway and
his wife, Cathy, have two daughters, Shauna and Marisa.

Mark
Marion, Accompanist

Mark is a 1996 graduate
of Marietta High School. He attended WSCC, Marietta College,
and graduated in December of 1999 from Malone College in Canton,
Ohio where he received his BA in Business Administration and
was named to the “National Dean’s List” three
years in a row. Mark began taking piano lessons at the age of
four from Jerry Grim at Boyd’s Music. He also took organ
and trombone lessons. He has played piano for the Marietta Wesleyan
Church, and their choir since 1991. Mark has been the piano
accompanist for Mr. Dunaway’s choirs since 1993, and was
hired full time in October 2000 by Marietta City Schools as
an assistant to Mr. Dunaway. Mark has played the musical accompaniment
under Mr. Dunaway for Bye-Bye Birdie, Guys and Dolls, The Music
Man and Hello Dolly, and enjoys other musical interests by playing
for weddings, receptions, and background music for numerous
other events. Mark also started a real-estate rental business
in August of 1999. All of us involved with the choir program
would like to say “Thank You” Mark for your dedication,
and always being there—we couldn’t do it without
you!

Cathy
Dunaway, Choreographer
Cathy Dunaway is
currently in her fifth year of teaching 6-8th grade Social Studies
at St. Mary’s School in Marietta, Ohio. She is co-advisor
of its Student Council. In addition, Mrs. Dunaway is the keyboard
player for Norwood United Methodist Church, where she plays
during the worship service. Mrs. Dunaway has been a choreographer
for “PREMIERE” for ten years and had choreographed
for Shenandoah’s show choir for four years. Mrs. Dunaway
received her Bachelor of Science in Education degree at Otterbein
College. In her spare time, she likes to read. The members of
“PREMIERE” would like to express their gratitude
to Cathy for the many hours spent with them. The Dunaways have
two daughters, Shauna and Marisa, and a Golden Retriever, Valentine.
